On March 4, Sino-German Dolang Group Chairman Jiang Zuodong, Party Branch Secretary and General Manager of the Manufacturing Center Wang Liangliang, Director of the Institute of Industry and Education Research Diao Xiuzhen, along with six other representatives, visited Jinan University. The two parties engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as the deep integration of industry, academia, and research, talent development, the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and international cooperation. Jinan University Party Committee Vice Secretary and President Liu Zongming attended the symposium and delivered a speech, while Party Committee Standing Member and Vice President Huang Jiandong presided over the meeting. Heads from relevant departments—including the Office of Academic Affairs, the Office of Science and Technology, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, as well as the Colleges of Mechanical Engineering, Automation and Electrical Engineering, and Information Science and Engineering—also participated in the discussion.
Discussing a Vision for Cooperation: Enterprises and Universities Joining Hands to Forge a New Chapter of Development
In his speech, Jinan University Party Committee Vice Secretary and President Liu Zongming expressed his gratitude for the long-term support that Sino-German Dolang Group has provided to the university. He pointed out that in recent years, Jinan University has leveraged its engineering strengths to closely align with one of Shandong Province's top ten industries. By establishing the Industry–University–Enterprise Technology Research Institute and Technology Transfer Center, and by actively promoting the "Hundred Schools, Ten Thousand Enterprises, Ten Thousand Teachers" initiative, the university has empowered technological innovation in enterprises and provided strong support for the high-quality development of the county economy. He noted that as strategic partners located in Shizhong District, Jinan University and Sino-German Dolang Group enjoy a unique geographical advantage and a solid foundation for cooperation. He emphasized that the university will deepen its collaboration with industry in a more open manner and looks forward to working closely with Sino-German Dolang Group in areas such as key technological breakthroughs and practical teaching, thereby achieving mutual empowerment.
Focusing on the Integration of Industry and Education: Empowering Talent Development from the Industrial End
Sino-German Dolang Group Chairman Jiang Zuodong stated that as a nationally recognized "specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative" small giant enterprise, Dolang is not only a pioneer in industrial upgrading but also a partner in educational innovation. He proposed that the group work with Jinan University through models such as "horizontal collaborative research projects" and "challenge-based project leadership" to ensure that technological research aligns precisely with industrial needs. At the same time, he suggested exploring a "co-education and co-retention" mechanism—one that involves the entire talent development chain from curriculum design and internship training to employment and entrepreneurship—using industry to nurture education and education to enhance industrial technology.
Sino-German Dolang Group Party Branch Secretary and Manufacturing Center General Manager Wang Liangliang delivered a comprehensive presentation on the technical strengths of Sino-German Dolang Group and its achievements in educational services under the theme "International Development Driven by Both Industry and Education." He highlighted several cooperative projects in future industries, such as embodied intelligence and industrial robotics, which can be integrated with academic disciplines at Jinan University, and offered suggestions for deepening technological innovation cooperation. Following his presentation, representatives from both sides engaged in extensive discussions on innovative cooperation models, the optimization of talent development mechanisms, and collaborative technological innovation.
A Decade of Cooperative Heritage: Writing a Story of Mutual Success between Universities and Enterprises
During the visit, accompanied by Jinan University Party Committee Standing Member and Vice President Huang Jiandong, the Sino-German Dolang delegation toured the university's history museum and Industrial Training Center, gaining an in-depth understanding of the school's developmental history and teaching achievements.
This visit also reflects the deep-rooted cooperation between the two parties. Since 2015—when Sino-German Dolang was designated as one of the four major practical bases at Jinan University—the collaboration between the university and the enterprise has continuously advanced. In 2019, Chairman Jiang Zuodong was appointed as an industry professor at Jinan University, and the two parties signed the "Jinan University–Shizhong District" talent project. In 2022, a strategic cooperative project for jointly establishing a major was launched, resulting in more than a thousand students interning, undergoing practical training, or being employed by the enterprise.
This exchange has further solidified the integrated ecosystem of "industry, academia, research, and application," laying the foundation for jointly tackling technological challenges and for building a modern industrial college. Standing at a new starting point, as a new round of cooperation is being prepared, this bridge spanning industry and education is steadily extending toward higher quality and deeper integration.
